The Mount Rainier Chapter is the U.S. Pacific Northwest based Master Chapter that serves its Army Aviation Community especially its 290+ members. This Chapter is a mix of currently serving or retired Active Duty, Wash. Army National Guard, Army Reserve, DAC, Civilian Contractors who many of which work and or live in-around Gray Army Airfield at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM; formerly Fort Lewis and McChord AFB). Our Chapter has a storied history since Fort Lewis was a power projection platform for Army Aviation since the Vietnam era and our membership includes the esteemed COL (R) Bruce 'Snake-6' Crandall and COL (R) William Reeder, author of 'Through the Valley: My captivity in Vietnam.' Units supported include the 16th CAB and subordinate units, 4th BN /160th SOAR, 96th Aviation Troop Command, 168th GSAB and subordinate units.
